About
Sue Glasgow is an Irish-born artist based in Long Melford, Suffolk. She paints mainly in oils.
As an emerging artist, Sue developed a love of portraiture and has worked on a number of commissions and her own creative pieces. She also paints landscapes capturing the shapes and musical rhythms of nature in a space between naturalism and abstraction. There is a quiet spirituality in her work which is drawn from her rich Irish memories and big skies of Suffolk.
Sue belongs to The Somerton Set, a group of talented Suffolk artists mentored by the artist and illustrator, Rui Paes and has exhibited with this group at the Lavenham Hall Gallery in 2023.
Sue has participated at workshops on portraiture with the American artist, Rob Liberace in 2023, and Trois Crayons with Tyler Berry and Chelsea Bard in 2024. She attends a regular life drawing class.
Sue lives in Long Melford with her husband Julian and Cocker Spaniel, Suki.
